Each block is molded from high-density EVA foam that holds firm under bodyweight without digging into the hands. High-Density Closed-Cell EVA, Engineered
Cheap yoga blocks crush, deform and creak under bodyweight - because they're low-density open-cell foam. Pyre Fit blocks are molded from 70 kg/m3 high-density closed-cell EVA, the same material class used in marine flotation and orthopedic shoe midsoles.
Closed-cell structure means each foam cell is sealed - so the block doesn't absorb sweat, moisture or bacteria, won't go soft over time, and stays dimensionally stable through 300+ lbs of compression. The chamfered 45-degree edges are CNC-cut, not rounded by hand, so the bevel feels uniform under your palms, hips and forehead.
Surface is treated with a fine satin grain that grips dry or sweaty skin without sticking - the same micro-texture spec used on Olympic-grade pilates props.
